B Game Summary - September 25, 2010

Bombastic B won 1-0 against West Richmond Retros at Van Tech turf.

Game Summary from Hugh:
Bombastic B won their 3rd in row, winning 1-0 over West Richmond Metros. When the game started it looked like we would win easily, as we carried the play and a few good chances. West Richmond fought back a bit, but Bombastic took the lead on a great free kick by Jana (and great accompanying celebration). As the game moved along we continued to create chances but failed to finish (one cross bar and a few shots right at the keeper). The second half was much of the same. West Richmond never really threatened our goal, and when they did our defense and guest keeper Alexis tidied up well. Good game for most, but we need to learn to bury our chances and take control of games like this.

B Game Summary - September 18, 2010

Bombastic B won 5-0 against Tsawwassen Blue Rebels at Van Tech turf.

Game Summary from Hugh:
Bombastic B won their second straight game to successfully establish ourselves at our new home pitch at Van Tech. It took us a while to get going. Part of this was getting used to the field - many passes were too strong and rolled too far. Soon we were generating some scoring chances, but we needed a penalty to finally get our first goal. We were up 2-0 at the half and scored 3 more in the second, including Megan’s first Bombastic goal on a beautifully taken free kick. Amber earned her first shutout and played well in goal. Three things to work on: we did have a couple of scary moments – especially early in the game when the scored was still 0 – 0 mostly created from crosses in from the wing; when we have the ball, we still need to work on moving it wide (east-west) and then forward rather than just going forward (north-south); and we had too many high shots towards the keepers hands - need to get those shots down. Kudos go to Stephanie and Alexis for helping out the defence as we had many of our regular defenders missing.

B Game Summary - September 12, 2010

Bombastic B won 4-1 against Ladner Sapphire at South Park School.

Game Summary from Hugh:
Bombastic B ladies opened their season with an impressive 4 -1 victory over Ladner Sapphire. Bombastic dominated from the start, and Ladner barely threatened until late in the second half. Our defense was solid, and offensively we created lots of chances. Particularly impressive was the passing and the overall teamwork - good signs for the season to come. There were lots of impressive performances. Amber made an impressive debut in goal.
