Ladies Teams

B Game Summary - Nov 29, 2009

Bombastic B lost 0-1 against North Shore Rage at Boulevard Park.

Game summary from Ryan:
"Ladies, I'm only giving one star out for yesterdays match. The reason is that had it not been for Kim the score would have easily been at least 3-0, as she made two great stops to keep it only 1-0. Unfortunately, we didn't give her any support at the other end and the one goal was too much to overcome. This is not to demonstrate that the rest of you were poor, however, to recognise that Kim's effort was truly solid and the main reason the result was as close as it was. Again, as is often the case, it all comes down to training. Hope to see a solid turnout this week on both Monday and Wednesday to continue to work on the concepts and skills that will bring us results in the win column."

B Game Summary - Nov 17, 2009

Bombastic B lost 0-3 against Westside Storm on Van Tech turf.

Game summary from Ryan:
"When all was said and done, the better team won and was full value for it. The score perhaps flattered them a bit, as we did have an OG and also put in a determined effort. Be proud that you played hard through the final whistle, and in fact created a couple of quality opportunities to score in the final 10 minutes. We had a few breakdowns, as they ended up with the ball in the back of our net; that happens, and we should know by this point of the season that if we don't score we cannot afford to make any glaring mistakes. Last night, this is exactly what happened unfortunately, and I will also add that you were victimised by poor and uneven refereeing (to be kind). I won't often point the finger at the ref, however know that he was very poor indeed and had a direct influence on the outcome of that match which should not be the case. All that said, be encouraged that your level of play continues to be high and you continue to work hard towards a complete 90 minute effort. More commitment to training, and fitness, will only help accelerate that process as I will continue to try and provide you with the tools you need."

Bombastic A: Nov 15th game summary

Nov 15th game summary from Ryan:

Bombastic A lost 3-4 against Wickham FC

"Today's result is a tough one to swallow, I know. However, in your minds don't let the end result overshadow the great aspects to today's match, the real positives. We created a TON of quality offensive chances, and were unlucky to not fill the net as a result. We battled hard, and over the full 90 were the better team on the day. Wickam FC is a veteran side, who didn't panic and stuck to their game and shape after we built an early lead; learn from them, and the way they battled back today. We didn't give them many quality chances, however they buried theirs where we did not. At the end, that was the difference today. We lost the match, however I believe we gained valuable experience for the next match when we will not take our foot off the proverbial pedal, and will use this experience to bury teams and not give them the opportunity to come back on us. I saw, at times, great team play today; creative offensive forays, and head's up defensive play as I've coached you to do. At times, we were sloppy defensively, however I can coach that; I cannot coach character, and you all showed much of that today. Think about this match today, move past it tomorrow and focus on training."

B Game Summary - Nov 15, 2009

Bombastic B tied 1-1 against NSGSC Legend at Ambleside.

Game summary from Ryan:
"A very solid defensive effort, another goal, and a third straight positive result. A bit of a let-down at the end, with a good finish by Legend's striker to steal away the win. Again, when we only manage one goal for, these things tend to happen more often than not. We'll continue to work hard and refine our shape and passing, and more goals will come. We will continue to need a solid turn out at training and a consistency in our roster on match day in order for this to happen. I am encouraged by how you defend as a team; with urgency, and fierce dedication. The goal now is to continue that, and mirror that effort at the other end of the pitch offensively. A good result yesterday, against a strong side in the Legend. The second half of the season is starting off strongly!"

Bombastic A: Nov 8th game summary

Bombastic A tied 0-0 against Westside Shamrock Rovers

Game summary from Ryan
:
"A second consecutive strong effort ladies, and full-value for the draw. Unlucky, perhaps, to not get the one goal that would have been the difference however not for lack of trying. In particular, a very strong second-45 where you were the better side and created quality offensive chances while remaining solid and responsible defensively. Week by week, you continue to create moments with your play that I'd not seen before, and that is encouraging and a testament to your dedication and willingness to absorb coaching. Great effort yesterday, and one that won the respect of your opponents by the comments of their coach afterward. That is the ultimate compliment, and it looks good on you."

B Game Summary - Nov 8, 2009

Bombastic B tied 1-1 against Invivo FC at Andy Livingstone Park.

Game summary from Ryan:
"Another strong effort ladies and a goal to go with it! That's two strong efforts in consecutive weeks, and you are now firmly headed in the right direction I believe. All your hard work and openness to coaching is paying off as you play more fluidly as a team. I am thoroughly happy with the progress thus far and know that you on are the verge of climbing the next hurdle--a win. Let's have a strong turnout to training both nights this week and continue moving forward."

Bombastic A: Nov 1st game summary

Nov 1st game summary from Ryan:
It was a 2-2 tie between Bombastic A and NSGSC Red Socks. Goals by Christina Lazeski and Chloe Handley

"Tough 90 minutes today, ladies, however you were full-value for the draw. Be proud of how you stepped up to match their intensity and physicality, and didn't back down when it mattered the most near the end. You played hard, played as a team, and should feel very good about another positive result. Sometimes you can't win, and what's more important is you don't lose. Yesterday was such a day, and I am proud of how this team continues to improve and come together as one unit with all parts moving in the same direction. A great result, and yet another solid building block for the second half of the season. Winning is a habit, that comes from a tradition thereof; you are establishing the tradition, and developing the habit."

B Game Summary - Nov 1, 2009

Bombastic B tied 0-0 against NSGSC Mavericks at China Creek Park.

Game Summary from Ryan:
"Whoo, first point of the season for Bombastic B! Great effort today, ladies, all through the lineup. Nice to see you finally put together a solid 90 minutes, whistle to whistle, and also generate some quality offensive forays as well. First point, check...first goal, not far behind I'm certain! Great, also, to see almost all available yesterday for the match; to be successful, we need a consistent lineup and a good number on the bench to keep the energy level up throughout the 90 minutes. This is something to build on, so lets do just that with good training sessions this week and another solid performance next Sunday."
