B Game Summary - Feb 21, 2010

Bombastic B lost 0-2 to West Vancouver Allstar Screamers at Ambleside turf.

Game summary from our guest coach Hugh:
"Bombastic B played another strong game but lost 2 - 0 to the West Van Allstar Screamers on Sunday. Again a lack of numbers hurt us as we played with 11 again, and both goals came in the second half when legs were tired. That said, we dominated a good team for the middle 40 minutes of the game and really showed what we can do. Kudos to Julie who worked till 5 the night before and played like a demon for the whole game, and to Jennifer who is looking better and better in goal every game."

B Game Summary - Feb 14, 2010

Bombastic B lost 1-2 to Westside Storm at S. Memorial SW in the third Cup game.

Game summary from our guest coach Hugh:
"Bombastic B played a really solid game on Sunday against the Westside Storm. The final score was 2-1. Again, not having any subs really hurt us, as everyone tired in the second half. We almost got the game to penalties but were foiled by an unfortunate own goal. The first half was pretty even - they scored on a nice through pass for a breakaway, but Yasmina tied it up on a speedy effort and good low shot. Picking three stars was really tough because there were a lot of good efforts - so honourable mentions go to Julie and Lisa who both played most of game injured (and both payed great) and Jennifer who is doing excellent in goal."

Bombastic A: Feb 7th game summary

Game summary from Ryan:
Bombastic A lost 2-0 against NCUSC Kaos
"Ladies, apologies for the tardiness of this summary...tough go on Sunday night last. You played your hearts out and put it all out on the pitch. You faced a formidable opponent, and in the end Kaos managed to put a couple in the net. On the plus side, as a team you defended like demons and did all you could to keep Kaos at bay. In the end, a lack of possession is what did us in more than anything, as you were all exhausted by the second half. It happens when you encounter teams that move the ball around well; I hope that we all took something positive from the match, in terms of things to learn and work on so that next time, we'll be that team with all the possession and the chase-ees, not the chasers. In training, lets focus on making sharp passes, moving around and supporting each other, and keeping possession. On to Golden Ears next Sunday, and our first Cup win! Believe it or not, we are still alive to move forward in Cup play!!"

Bombastic A: Jan 31st game summary

Game summary from Ryan:
Bombastic A lost 2-0 against the Poco FC Gunners

"Sunday's match was on in which we just didn't have it, Ladies. There are matches like that; we were flat for long stretches, and also both unlucky and not clinical at the offensive end. The pitch wasn't in ideal condition, however it was the same for both teams and the Gunners managed just fine so I won't accept that as a reason we didn't put forth a better effort. We pushed harder in the second half, however fell short on the scoreboard at the end. I won't say too much further than that, as there really isn't much to say that I didn't already say yesterday. Summation, '**it happens'. Today, it time to move forward from it and focus on next week's match vs. Kaos. Lets have a great couple of training sessions this week, and put our best game on the pitch next Sunday night."

Bombastic B lost 0-5 to Burnaby Supafly at Burnaby Lake in the second Cup game.

Game summary from our guest coach Hugh:
"11 Bombastic B players played hard for 90 minutes against a very good (and young) Burnaby Superfly. Bombastic was overmatched and lost the game but played well for the most part - putting some very nice passing plays together and playing as a team right to the end. Lots of great efforts."

Bombastic B lost 0-1 to the Coquitlam Gamblers A at Towncentre North. It was the first Cup game.

Game Summary from our guest coach Hugh:
"Bombastic B put in a good effort in their cup game against the Coquitlam Gamblers A, but, unfortunately, lost 0-1 in an evenly played game. Jennifer was solid in goal, and the defense limited the opposition chances. Bombastic generated a few chances each half but weren't able to get one by their keeper."
