Game Summary - March 8, 2009

Unfortunately, the B Team was eliminated from cup competition by the North Shore Sharks losing 3-2. A slow start, quickly resulted in Bombastic being down 2-0. Good work by Ashley Drummond in goal as there was a lot of action in the Bombastic end in the first half. In the second half, Bombastic came out with a vengeance and played extremely well. The Sharks put a third goal in our net, but Kim Willey responded by breaking away from the pack and scoring two beautiful goals. She was cool and collected under pressure as always and kept our team motivated until the final minutes. Tanya McLean was outstanding as sweeper in the second half, and Kate Daley was solid at keeper. The second half of the game was one of the team's best this season, but we couldn't manage the tying goal. Player of the game: Kim Willey

The A team quarter final was abandoned at half time due to snow. The game will be replayed on March 15th.

Game Summary - March 1, 2009

The B team continued their impressive play in a 2 - 1 loss to NCUSC Crown Royals - a very strong team that has clinched promotion to Div 2 and has scored 66 goals in 17 games. Bombastic gave them a really good run. The Royals scored first. Bombastic tied it just before half on a long run down the left side and great cross by Mary Ellen Glover that was thumped into the net by Tanya McLean. The Royals had many chances in the second half, but Linsday Rolfe played awesome in goal making a ton of saves. Great games from Mel and Tanya, and Jeni McKay had a really solid game at left back - good efforts all around. Fun game to play and watch. Player of the game: Lindsay Rolfe.
