B Game Summary - October 30, 2010

Bombastic B won 2-0 against Ladner Sapphire at Van Tech turf.

Game Summary from Hugh:
Bombastic B played a great game Saturday and beat the Ladner Sapphire 2-0 to go to 7-0 for the season and solidify our top of the table standings. We started with some immediate pressure and got a goal early (for a change). Ladner came back in the first half and gave us some challenging defensive moments including a shot off the inside of the goalpost that very nearly went in. Ladner are a good team but in the second half we really started to take it to them and we were unlucky only to get one more goal. We were the better team because of our precise passing and teamwork. Amber had another great game in goal and the whole team played very well.

B Game Summary - October 23, 2010

Bombastic B won 1-0 against the Vancouver Reign at Van Tech turf.

Game Summary from Hugh:
Bombastic B continued their unbeaten and untied season with a 1-0 win over the Vancouver Reign. Bombastic were obviously the better team but we struggled to put it all together and the effort of the opposition kept the score 0-0 at half time. The second half was much better, but a lack of finish still hurt us. We did manage to finally get a goal with about 20 minutes left and hit the crossbar shortly after that. In the end we got the 3 points out of a sub par effort - hopefully we'll be sharper next week.

B Game Summary - October 17, 2010

Bombastic B won 3-1 against Westside FC United at Hillcrest.

Game Summary from Hugh:
Bombastic B secured their spot at the top of the standings with a solid 3-1 victory over second place Westside. In the words of guest coaches Brent and Sonny, "The whole team was very dominant and went after balls aggressively. We were on the offensive most of the game. The mids always came back and helped defense. We controlled most of the play and rarely let up. The touch passing has vastly improved since game one, which makes us a very difficult team to defend. Most of the shots were on target. We hit the post a couple of times and all three goals were scored on fantastic shots.

B Game Summary - October 3, 2010

Bombastic B won 2-0 against Vancouver Chill at Templeton.

Game Summary from Hugh:
Bombastic B played a strong game on Sunday, beating the Vancouver Chill 2-0 to better their record to 4 wins and no loses or ties for the season. The Chill were good competition, and this game had more action in our end than previous games. The defense was strong; however, and when we did break down a bit - Amber made some good saves - probably her most impressive game yet. We got a goal each half. Alexis' well hit and dangerous half cross/half shot went off a defender's head and over the keeper for goal number one. Yasmina scored goal number two. The Chill keeper was very good but barely moved on a perfect example of how effective a good low shot can be. There were lots of outstanding performances beyond the 3 stars of the game and it looked like a fun game to play.
