Ladies Teams

Sept 27th Game Summary from Ryan:
Bombastic A won 2-1 against Wickham FC...Woo! (Goals by Megan Shaw and Jenny Franks)
"Ladies, there is one word for your performance today - OUTSTANDING! Today, this team took a giant step forward; you all dug deep for each other and took the match away from the other team. Now you know what it takes to win, the effort required. You also now know what level of game you need to bring each and every week, minute to minute, in order to continue to win. I am confident by what I saw today that you can do just that...now, you all have to believe in each other and have the hunger to win, however deep you have to dig inside to find that extra effort to be first to the ball, or tackle just a little more diligently when you believe you're dead tired. Again, big step today ladies, be proud like I am of what you accomplished. Now, we start all over again for next week, building on it."

Bombastic B lost 1-0 to the NSGSC Legend this morning at China Creek.

Game summary from Ryan:
"Ladies, I said all I needed to say after the match but will re-iterate that the effort today was solid. We did create opportunities to take the three points. I am proud of the way you competed, and hope that level of effort continues as it is so very close to yielding very positive results."

Bombastic A game-Sept 20th 2009

Game Summary from Ryan:
Bombastic A lost 3-0 to the Westside Shamrock Rovers
"We got off to a slow start, however the second 45 showed a higher degree of intensity than the first 45. That effort level, the willingness to continue to push and compete is more important than the result. If we put together 90 minutes near or at the second-half level of yesterday consistently, the results will come soon."

B Game Summary - Sept 20, 2009

Bombastic B had another very close match, this time against Invivo FC. Although the ladies lost 1-0, Bombastic had ball possession for most of the game. The second half was played predominantly in the opponent's end, and we had many chances with Fionna and Yasmina pushing hard up front.

Ryan felt that it was a solid match from start to finish. "We created numerous quality opportunities to score, and the effort level was consistently high from start to finish. The result was not what was desired, however, the process is something to believe in. A step forward from last week, to be sure."

B Game Summary - Sept 13, 2009

Bombastic B team played their first game of the season against the NSGSC Mavericks. Many of the B team players had already played earlier that morning for the A team, so having plenty of subs on hand was very much appreciated. It was a hard fought match in the hot afternoon sun, but the Mavericks managed to put in a goal in the last five minutes to win it 1-0. Chloe noted the team played considerably better in this game than in the summer season. Ryan was impressed that everyone worked as a team. With a commitment to our practices, it will only be a matter of time before our hard work pays off in victories.

Game summary Sept 13

Bombastic A lost 3-0 against the NSGSC Red Socks on Sunday. A tough match on Sunday morning, to be sure, to start off our season. Injuries aside, we struggled to find any sort of rhythm of passing and possession. That said, the effort was a solid one and team-oriented with no-one giving up until the final whistle. In fact, as was noted after the match by Claire the final 20 minutes were our best; as you all know, that's one of my goals each and every match, to be strong at the end. Yesterday was a character test, and gives us a clear idea of what we need to improve on to compete at the level that confronted us. Sometimes, it can be a very positive thing to realise off the hop that the mountain you're attempting to climb is actually a bit steeper than first thought; the challenge is what motivates you forward. I believe that this is the positive to take out of yesterday, along with the great attitude and effort put forth. If the effort put forth yesterday continues, we will have more positive results in the 'W' column.
