Bombastic B Game - October 22, 2011

Bombastic B won 3-1 against Van City FC C at Van Tech turf.

Game Summary from Hugh:
The Bombastic B ladies won their big game this weekend against previously unbeaten VanCity FC C. With the 3-1 victory we are now 5 points clear at the top of the table with a perfect 6-0-0 record. The game was very entertaining and VanCity are a good team - it was great to play against a team that really pushed us hard. We scored very quickly - on a great shot over the keeper by Stephanie - set up by some nice work by Megan, but our lead was short lived and the game was tied 1 - 1 after about 7 minutes. Early in the game we did a lot of defending, but as the half progressed we started to have our chances too. Their keeper made a great save to tip Ana's header over the bar. Both teams had a fair number of corners that added to the tension. It was 1-1 at halftime. In the second half we continued to slowly take over the game, although Lindsay - who was solid all game - had to make an amazing diving save to keep it tied. Ana generated a lot chances up front and her perseverance paid of with 2 goals in the last 15 minutes - the first as a result of some good team pressure and the second on a great pass through their defence by Jenny. The back-line had to work really hard this game and played great. Well deserved victory ladies.

Bombastic B Game - October 16, 2011

Bombastic B won 2-0 against the RGSA Chaos at Hugh Boyd High School.

Game Summary from Hugh:
Bombastic B ladies remained undefeated and untied this season by beating the previously unbeaten RGSA Chaos 2 – 0. Bombastic carried the play for most of the game, but Chaos definitely had some quality players who posed more danger than we had seen for a few games. Our defense held strong throughout the game and made some timely tackles. At half it was nil – nil, but Bombastic had the better chances; their keeper had more to do than ours. In the second half, we started to take over the game as the other team was frustrated by their lack of chances. Welcome back to Tanya and Megan who combined on our first goal (just when we “knee”ded it). Steph got the second goal on a good low shot. Good efforts from everyone – a good team win.

Bombastic B Game - October 1, 2011

Bombastic B won 5-0 against the Rovers at Van Tech turf.

Game Summary from Hugh:
The Bombastic B ladies went to 4-0 on the season with a solid 5-0 win over Rovers. Unfortunately, Rovers only had 9 players and played with 8 at times, so again Bombastic carried the play and our keeper (thanks Alexis for filling in) did not have a lot to do. Still, Bombastic did a lot of things right in this game - scored some nice goals and worked hard at getting the most of the situation. We had 5 different goal scorers which is great to see.

Bombastic B Game - September 25, 2011

Bombastic B won 4-0 against the Vancouver Magic at Andy Livingstone East.

Game Summary from Hugh:
Bombastic B went to the top of the table and to 3-0 on the season with a very convincing 4 - 0 win over the Vacouver Magic. It was great to see the B Ladies dominate the play and score 2 goals in each half. Marta's and Ana's second half goals are two early candidates for team goal of the year. Again strong performances all around - particularly from Alexis, Marion and Jenny in the midfield - who all just missed out on the 3 stars. Well done B team. Let's stay focused - I'm sure there are some tough games to come.
