B Game Summary - June 22, 2010

Bombastic B lost 1-2 against Vancouver Vixens C at New Brighton Park.

Game summary from Hugh:
Bombastic B finished off the spring season with a disappointing loss to Vancouver Vixens. We had a very sleepy first half and were just a step too slow and allowed Vixens to take a 1 - 0 lead. We woke up in the second half and played great for the most part, dominating the game and pressing for goals. Unfortunately, Vixens got another goal against the run of play, and we had to come back from 2 goals down. We got part way there when Marta scored her 7th goal this spring but couldn't get a second goal. Overall, we were clearly the stronger team, and if we play for 90 minutes and finish our chances we will win these close games in the future.

B Game Summary - June 15, 2010

Bombastic B won 3-2 against Vancouver Chill at Windermere High School.

Game summary from Hugh:
In an exciting game that had everything, Bombastic B beat Vancouver Chill 3-2. Like the last time we played them, we had tons of chances and had troubles getting the ball in the back of the net (although we did get 3 eventually). Enjoying a comfortable 2-0 lead in the second half, we let them back in the game with another own goal (our fourth this year) and another goal by one of their more dangerous players. All of a sudden the game was 2-2! But Bombastic kept it together and scored with about 5 minutes left to take the win we deserved. As usual, all our goals were very nice (we need to learn to score some ugly ones).

B Game Summary - June 10, 2010

Bombastic B won 2-0 against Vancouver That Team at Strathcona Oval.

Game summary from Hugh:
Bombastic B played a solid game and beat "That Team" 2-0. Marta finished off a nice play and we scored early to take a 1-0. That Team had a couple of players who threatened our goal in the first half but our back line was solid. We had our fair share of chances throughout the game but didn't get our second goal till late. Still, Kim had a pretty easy time in goal, thanks to good defense and a solid effort by all.

B Game Summary - June 3, 2010

Bombastic B lost 3-4 against Dzunukwa FC at Strathcona Oval.

Game summary from Hugh:

Bombastic B put in a hell of an effort in a 4-3 loss to the top team in our division Dzunukwa FC. We had a slow start, and continuing our streak of bad luck, we let in our 3rd own goal of the season (out of 4 goals against - at the time) early in the first half. The rest of the half was very exciting - Alexis and Julie scored great goals for us - but Dzunukwa had some great plays too and it was 3-2 for them after 30 minutes. Dzunukwa had some very good players and were very physical, but Bombastic played up to their level and met the challenge. Playing as the lone striker (we used 5 midfield players), Julie got her second goal in the second half and we were all even at 3-3 when we got an unfortunate penalty called against us. Dzunukwa converted to take the lead - we tried hard to equalize but could not get the 4th goal. A really strong effort from the whole team. Special mention to the tireless work by Tanya and Courtney at the back.
