Bombastic A: Oct 25th game summary

Oct 25th game summary from Ryan:

Bombastic A won 2-1 against the NSGSC Strikers
"Today was an outstanding TEAM effort, ladies. Back to front, each and all of you put your best forward and worked hard for 90 minutes. By far the best all-around team effort thus far this season, and much to be positive and proud about. Feel great about your result today, as you were assuredly the better team on the pitch through hard work, skillful play and perseverance to take maximum points. It truly was a pleasure to watch you play beautiful football today, and gives me great confidence as moving forward to the next match that we can build on today's win and put forth that effort consistently and achieve many more such positive results. We wish Jenny and Ally speedy recoveries from the knocks they suffered today, and they're back on the pitch soon!"

Oct 18th game summary

Oct 18th Game summary from Ryan:

Bombastic A lost 2-0 against the West Coast FC Strikers
"Yesterday's match was a tale of two halves; one we played well in, and another we did not. Good things to take out of the match were improved ball movement in the 2nd half, particularly around the back line, and an increased level of intensity as well. I am proud of how we responded to the challenge in the 2nd half, and in fact were the better team over the final 30 minutes. Keep working hard, and the results will come. If we can replicate the second half intensity of yesterday each and every match out, for a full 90 minutes, we will be unbeatable."

Three stars:

B Game Summary - Oct 25, 2009

Bombastic B lost 0-1 to Meralomas C at China Creek Park.

Game Summary from Ryan:
"A strong effort today, ladies. Nearly had your first point, if not for a slight let-down in concentration and effort near full-time. There were positives to take out of today, certainly, in that you moved the ball around well at times and were able to create a few quality opportunities on goal. A solid team defensive effort, yet again, and if those continue they will bear fruit at the other end of the pitch sooner than later."

Game summary:
3-1 win for Bombastic A against NSGSC Storm!
"Great effort today, ladies! I am so proud of the progress you're making as a team week after week, and also individually. You learned a valuable lesson on how to get up on a team by more than one goal, and play with the lead; now we will work on how to close that out and protect the clean sheet. That aside, as there's always things to work and improve on, you are establishing a winning habit. Winning is a habit, make no mistake, and equalizing your record going into the off week gives you a clean slate to build on going forward after the break. Again, great effort, be proud of the huge steps forward you're making!"

B Game Summary - Oct 4, 2009

Bombastic B lost 3-0 to the West Vancouver Allstar Screamers at Ambleside.

Game summary from Kira:
"We had a great start. We strung some great passes, took some shots on goal, and when the half time whistle blew, the score was tied 0-0. We managed to do this despite having only one sub and without our regular goalie. The lack of subs really started to show by the second half, and the Screamers took advantage of this. The back line didn't get much of a break--Tanya stuck in there the whole game despite being sick--and they worked great together in moving the ball up the field. Thanks to Cheylene and Charlotte for standing in for goal on short notice, it was much appreciated. Thank you for letting Kristina and I come and help out ladies, it was fun!"
