Ladies Teams

Bombastic A: March 21st game summary

Game summary from Ryan:
Bombastic A lost 2-0 to the Vancouver Thunderbirds.

"Tough match to end the season with, Ladies, though you played your hearts out for a full 90 minutes. In the end, the Thunderbirds were a bit too much as they're a quality side; that said, a 2-0 loss to the top team in our table is nothing to be ashamed of as they had to work for it and your effort elicited high praise from their coach afterwards. As I said to you before the match, regardless of Sunday night's outcome you are winners and have had a successful season. Be proud of where this team is today despite all the adversity it faced this season with injuries and up-and-down results. Through it all, you kept together as a team and persevered with a positive attitude, and at the end of Sunday night's match I saw nothing but smiles despite the loss. That sign alone indicates just how far you've come as a group, and as individuals. I look forward to taking the momentum and positive attitude built over this just-finished season into Spring League, as I know more positive results are to come as a result."

Bombastic A: March 14th game summary

Game summary from Ryan:
Bombastic A won 3-1 against the West Coast FC strikers
.
A very solid effort Sunday, ladies! I attempted to pick out three stars, however could not as yesterday was a total team effort, and each and every one of you deserve a 'star' for contributing to the win. The ball made its way all over the pitch through our shape, and there were excellent displays of passing and teamwork that are the direct result of solid focus in training. We started strong, and finished strong; true, there was a stretch in the middle when the Strikers made their push, however that's football and because we finished strong the end result was a solid statement of a win. These last two games, yesterday and next Sunday, are about serving notice for next season that Bombastic FC A is a team to respect and be wary of. Yesterday, you accomplished that and now it is on to a solid training session Wednesday as there is still a bit of work to be done before this season closes. Feel great about how you performed yesterday, and carry that with you into Wed. and next Sunday night knowing you can repeat it. You are winners, and I am proud of the effort you're all putting forth."

Feb 21st game summary from Ryan:
Bombastic A won 4-0 against NSGSC Storm
"A very solid effort yesterday; great to get a win after going a too-long stretch without. Against a team that was very short players yet very much game yesterday, you did what needed to be done to put up a solid score and play a solid match. There were outstanding efforts all through the roster yesterday, so while there were three 'stars' picked there is a long list of stars and those three just happen to be at the top of it in my mind. I saw some very good football played yesterday, and I hope that you all learned a little something from yesterday's match that will translate to when we next step on the pitch against a full side of 11. It appears we're going to have an off-week this coming weekend, with hopefully a make-up match against a solid opponent the week following. We've got four training sessions between now and then, and I'm hoping for a solid turnout in all four to continue to work on many of the little things we did quite well yesterday, to do them even better next time out. I am very proud of the team's development thus far, and you should all be proud of the hard work and dedication you've shown in that development. Also, a .500 record looks pretty darn good in the table! Yesterday was fun, playing good football is fun, and winning is fun...lets keep that fun train rolling!"

Bombastic A: Feb 14th game summary

Game summary from Ryan:
Bombastic A lost 4-0 against Golden Ears Lightning:
"Tough end to this season's Cup run yesterday. Score line aside, some gusty efforts by players both hampered by illness and injury and also those asked to play positions they're not normally accustomed to. You all played hard, and that ultimately is what's most important. The disappointment from yesterday, and the Cup run in general, will fade soon and needs to fade soon, as we need to now focus on our remaining three league matches and finish this season on a strong note. Take the week to rest, recuperate, and re-focus; on to the Storm next Sunday and an addition to our win column!"
