B Game Summary - September 18, 2010

Bombastic B won 5-0 against Tsawwassen Blue Rebels at Van Tech turf.

Game Summary from Hugh:
Bombastic B won their second straight game to successfully establish ourselves at our new home pitch at Van Tech. It took us a while to get going. Part of this was getting used to the field - many passes were too strong and rolled too far. Soon we were generating some scoring chances, but we needed a penalty to finally get our first goal. We were up 2-0 at the half and scored 3 more in the second, including Megan’s first Bombastic goal on a beautifully taken free kick. Amber earned her first shutout and played well in goal. Three things to work on: we did have a couple of scary moments – especially early in the game when the scored was still 0 – 0 mostly created from crosses in from the wing; when we have the ball, we still need to work on moving it wide (east-west) and then forward rather than just going forward (north-south); and we had too many high shots towards the keepers hands - need to get those shots down. Kudos go to Stephanie and Alexis for helping out the defence as we had many of our regular defenders missing.
